3 Simple New Year's Resolutions To Make You Happier and Healthier

Sharing is caring!

Many people choose New Year’s resolutions that are to do with how they look or losing weight, but we don’t believe in that! Here we discuss the healthiest new year’s resolutions.

We are strong believers that when you put your health first, rather than looking a particular way, you will fall in love with yourself and feel so much healthier and happier.

3 simple changes can make such a big difference to your life, so now is the perfect chance to make new habits!

Do 10,000 Steps A Day

Firstly, walking is so good for your mental health. When you take some time away from work or family, you can think so much more clearly, and having some time on your own every now and again is so important.

This isn’t to say you need to go on your own every time, as a lovely walk in the country with a friend or loved one is also amazing for your mental health. When you share a problem that you can’t stop thinking about, you will feel a huge weight lifted off your shoulders.

Walking is also amazing for your physical health. It helps to keep you mobile, it improves your cardiovascular health, and doing at least 30 minutes of exercise a day (including walking) can help to keep every part of your body so much healthier!

When you do 10,000 steps a day, it can also help you to sleep much better in the evenings, which also has a significant impact on how you feel.

This will take some time to get used to, but you will fall in love with it in no time. You could go on a nice morning walk to help you feel refreshed and ready for the day. If you are itching to get away from the desk at work, then why not use your lunch hour and do some of your steps. If you prefer to do your exercise in the evening, that is a lovely time to head out and unwind after a long day.

Give this a try and you will soon see the benefits. You can use health trackers or fitness apps to keep track of your daily step count.

Visit Your Dentist for a Dental Check

Often our oral health is pushed right back in our priority list, but it is equally as important as every other part of our health. Poor oral hygiene can have such a negative impact on our health overall, and when we experience a problem, it can take over our lives.

Perhaps you have been lucky enough to not experience oral health problems, but it can happen to anyone. When it does, it costs a significant amount of money, and it can have a huge impact on confidence.

So, this is your reminder to start prioritizing your oral health and to visit your dentist at least twice this year! They will be able to identify any problems that you might have, and the course of treatment is likely to be much easier if you go more regularly, as issues can be caught early on. Visiting a private dentist like Beyond Dental will give you the best experience possible, plus visiting won’t feel like a chore at all! This should definitely be on your priority list this year!

Drink More Water

Water plays a key role in carrying nutrients and oxygen to your cells, it helps to flush bacteria from your bladder, aids with digestion, keeps your blood pressure and heartbeat healthy, keeps your muscles healthy, and it also protects your organs and tissues. Going back to oral health, drinking water helps to wash away any food or drink debris left on our teeth, helping to prevent the buildup of plaque on our teeth.

This is such a simple change you can make in your life that can have endless amounts of health benefits. Plus, the things that drinking more water improves can help to make each day much easier and therefore make you happier!

Final Thoughts

Let’s all use our New Year’s resolutions to make ourselves healthier and happier. Our bodies deserve to be looked after and now is the perfect time to do it!
